CodexSkin.im helps Codex desktop app users create, review, apply, check, and restore custom visual styles. It is an independent community resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
Why this site exists
A polished screenshot can hide the facts that matter. Users need to know whether a skin uses built-in appearance controls or an unofficial method, whether a result was checked on their device, when it was checked, what can go wrong, and how to return to the default look.
CodexSkin puts those facts next to the preview and instructions.
Our review rules
We label:
- built-in themes and third-party methods separately;
- illustrative previews and real screenshots separately;
- checked, community-reported, and untested results separately;
- device, version, source, date, known limits, and restore steps where they matter.
We do not call a result checked without a dated first-hand test. We do not turn an upstream link into a fake first-party download.
A source review explains what the code and upstream records support. It is not the same as a CodexSkin.im real-device test.
Image and rights policy
Public themes need a documented creator, source, and usage right. We do not publish character, celebrity, brand, or private-person themes without a clear permission record.
The local builder can be used with an image you own or have permission to use. CodexSkin does not grant rights to your source image or to third-party names and marks.
Corrections and updates
If a compatibility claim becomes stale or wrong, we may change its status, remove the related call to action, or withdraw the theme until it is checked again.
